Ayurveda
Ayurveda is an ancient healing modality that began in India over many thousands of years ago. It’s based on the philosophy that ailments in the body are the result of an imbalance of Earth, Fire, or Air, known in Ayurveda as the three doshas, Kapha, Pitta, and Vata, respectively. Ayurvedic principles acknowledge the mind-body connection and aim to address the root cause of ailments to help relieve imbalances. This is achieved using herbal tea infusion remedies, seasonal diet and the sacred herbal body / skin oil formulas used in the ritual of Abhyanga, an Ayurvedic tenant of self-love and self-care.
Yoga
Yoga is Ayurveda’s sister science. More than postures alone, Yoga is a series of practices designed to unite our physical, mental, and spiritual selves. This includes meditation, breath work, sacred sounds philosophy, and concentration, all working toward achieving wisdom, and integrating the Self with the Universal consciousness. Yoga, combined with Ayurveda, is an organic, spirit-led way of living in alignment with humanity, the Earth, and the Universe.
